AMEYAA EDUCATIONAL ADVISORY
IB Programme Consultancy for Authorized Schools
Closing the Gap Between Authorization and Authentic Delivery
Authorization confirms a school is ready to begin. It does not guarantee every teacher has the pedagogical foundation, or every system the maturity, to deliver PYP, MYP, DP, or CP the way it is meant to be experienced. This is the consultancy built for what comes after authorization.
Why Authorization Is the Beginning, Not the Destination.
Authorization confirms that a school has met the standard required to begin. What it cannot confirm is that the programme is yet running with the depth, consistency, and genuine conviction that make an IB education worth everything a school and its families have invested in it. For most schools, closing that gap, between what the authorization report reflects and what is actually happening in classrooms day to day, is the real work that begins after the celebration.
The pressure to maintain authorization can quietly pull schools toward compliance rather than excellence. When systems are built primarily to satisfy an evaluation cycle, they risk becoming exactly that: systems built for evaluation, not for learning. The shift that matters is from a school that does IB because it is required to, to a school that practices IB because its leadership and teachers genuinely understand it as the most rigorous, most effective way to develop the students in their care.
This is the transition Ameyaa's programme consultancy is built for. Not a further audit, not another round of documentation review, but sustained, expert partnership that identifies precisely where delivery has matured and where it has not; strengthens the teaching practices and institutional systems that determine what students actually experience; and builds the kind of programme depth that justifies every decision that brought the school to authorization in the first place.
Two Tiers of Work, Pursued Together
THE FRAMEWORK
Fidelity is the floor: delivering PSP 2020 with genuine depth, not as a documentation exercise, but as the lived reality of every classroom, every policy, and every planning conversation in the school. Excellence is what a school builds on top of that floor, through instructional innovation, international best practice, and the kind of deliberate, school-specific development that moves a programme from technically sound to genuinely outstanding.
THE FLOOR
Fidelity
Genuine, defensible delivery of PSP 2020, the standard every authorized school is expected to deliver against. PDP Development and Implementatuion.
Excellence
THE CEILING
Innovation and international best practice that move a school beyond the standard, toward a genuinely world-class education for its students.
&
The strongest schools do not treat these as sequential stages, first achieving fidelity, then pursuing excellence, as though one ends where the other begins. They run both simultaneously, relentlessly improving what already works while reaching toward what could work better. This is precisely how Ameyaa structures its programme consultancy: not as a repair service for schools that have fallen short, but as a sustained partnership for schools that intend to be genuinely excellent and know the difference between the two.
Fidelity: Delivering PSP 2020 With Genuine Depth
TIER ONE
Every authorized IB World School is expected to deliver against the 2020 Programme Standards and Practices, the framework organized around four interdependent categories: Purpose, Environment, Culture, and Learning. Fidelity means delivering against this standard with genuine depth, not as a documentation exercise, but as the lived, daily reality of the school.
Purpose, Lived Not Displayed
Ensuring the IB Learner Profile and the school's mission shape grading criteria, behaviour policy, and daily practice, not just hallway posters.
Environment That Enables the Programme
Leadership structures, resourcing, and support systems genuinely capable of sustaining inquiry-based, concept-driven teaching at scale.
Culture Where Policy Is Operational
The school's whole-school policies, language, inclusion, academic integrity, assessment, functioning as lived practice, not filed documents.
Learning Built on Genuine Pedagogy
Coherent curriculum design, authentic approaches to teaching, and assessment practices that reflect IB's standards in substance, not only in form.
Fidelity work is, in a meaningful sense, technical work: the problem is known, the standard is published, and the path to closing the gap is one experienced guidance can identify and help build directly.
TIER TWO
Excellence: Innovation and International Best Practice Beyond the Standard
Fidelity is technical work: closing a known gap against a known standard, the kind of problem existing expertise can resolve directly. Excellence is different. It is adaptive work, meaning the school's own people, not an outside expert alone, must develop new capability and new conviction for it to genuinely take hold. This is precisely why generic workshops so rarely produce lasting change on their own.
Ameyaa's role in this tier is to help identify genuine innovation: an approach new to that school's own context, even if well established elsewhere, capable of meaningfully shifting how teachers teach and students learn, alongside international best practice drawn from strong systems worldwide. Where a school's own Programme Development Plan offers a natural vehicle for this work, Ameyaa helps shape and sustain it. Where a different structure better serves the goal, a different structure is built instead.
Just as important as identifying the right innovation is knowing when a school is genuinely ready for it. Change introduced before a school's leadership and staff are prepared for it rarely succeeds, and often does more harm than good. Part of Ameyaa's role in this tier is helping a school build that readiness deliberately, calibrating the pace of change so it stretches the school without overwhelming it, rather than imposing change before the conditions for it exist.
The aim of this tier is not novelty for its own sake. It is a visibly, meaningfully better experience and outcome for every student in the building, and the confidence, for parents and stakeholders alike, that comes with it.
PDP CONSULTANCY
Building Genuine Programme Development Plans
Every authorized IB World School is required to conduct ongoing Programme Development Plans, structured action research projects tied directly to improving student learning, rather than simply maintaining compliance. A PDP is not an action plan. An action plan tracks what a school must do to meet IBO requirements. A PDP is something fundamentally more purposeful: a focused, evidence-based inquiry into how the school can improve what students actually experience, structured around short, medium, and long-term timelines, and submitted as part of the evaluation process as evidence of genuine programme development.
In practice, most schools find PDP development genuinely difficult. The IBO's own framework is flexible by design, giving schools significant latitude in choosing their focus, structuring their inquiry cycle, and demonstrating impact. That flexibility is an invitation to do something meaningful. It is also, without experienced guidance, an invitation to produce something generic.
Ameyaa works with schools to develop and implement PDPs that are genuinely school-specific, grounded in real student data and programme evidence, and structured to produce work that a school is proud of rather than documentation that simply satisfies a requirement. This includes both whole-school PDPs, where the area of focus cuts across all programmes and involves leadership, teachers, students, and community members together, and programme-specific PDPs, where the inquiry is scoped to the particular needs of PYP, MYP, DP, or CP individually. The result is a school that enters its evaluation cycle with a PDP that reflects genuine institutional learning rather than a retrofitted documentation exercise.
HOW THIS WORKS
Two Ways to Engage
Schools engage with this consultancy in one of two ways, depending on what they need.
Focused Consultation
For schools facing a specific, identifiable challenge, assessment practice that hasn't matured as expected, a programme that has drifted from genuine inquiry, a coordinator role in transition, Ameyaa works with leadership to diagnose the issue and resolve it directly. This often includes targeted sessions with teachers or leadership where that is the right response, but the engagement is shaped by the problem itself, not by a fixed workshop format.
Embedded Programme Advisory
For schools seeking sustained support, Ameyaa works alongside leadership, coordinators, and teaching teams over time, embedded in the actual rhythm of the school, addressing both Fidelity and Excellence work as it is identified, and building capability that lasts well beyond the engagement itself.
Available across PYP, MYP, DP, and CP, for schools at any stage of their authorized journey.
A Natural Byproduct: Stronger Evaluation Outcomes
WORTH NOTING
Every authorized IB World School undergoes a programme evaluation every five years. This consultancy is not built around that cycle, and it is not framed as exam preparation. But a school that has done sustained Fidelity and Excellence work continuously, rather than scrambling only when an evaluation date approaches, walks into that evaluation already in strong standing.
This is simply a natural consequence of the work itself, not the goal of it. A school genuinely delivering its IB programme well, in the way its students experience it daily, has very little left to prepare for when the evaluation team arrives.
GUIDED BY EXPERIENCE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE IB JOURNEY
Why Ameyaa
Built on Direct Experience, Not Just Theory
Ameyaa's approach to programme consultancy is shaped by direct, lived experience leading a school through the full IB Continuum, from candidacy through authorization and beyond, and by ongoing work as an IB Educator Network Evaluation Leader and Authorization Consultant across the Asia-Pacific region. That dual vantage point, having built a school, and having evaluated others, is what separates genuine implementation guidance from generic professional development.
This work is further grounded in extensive school leadership research, covering organizational alignment, adaptive leadership, school culture, and the disciplined pursuit of both fidelity and innovation in schools. The distinction this consultancy is built on, between technical problems that existing expertise can resolve and adaptive challenges that require a school's own people to develop new capability, comes directly from that training, applied specifically to the work of authorized IB schools.
